Music video: “Michê” (“Hustler”), by Samambaia Sound Club

2008

The video for the song “Michê”, by Samambaia Sound Club, was produced by Exato Segundo and directed by Marco Stroisch (Quem Disse que Eu tô indo pra Casa?  [Who Says I'm going home?]). The audiovisual for the song “Michê” is one of the most whimsical pop productions ever made in Santa Catarina. The script incorporates ideas from several people who were involved in it, presenting a cynical and humorous look on the world of music and entertainment industry. When the song says “I want your money and I am worth every penny”, the video shows images of a pagode (TN: a less artistic style of samba) band, a hip-hop band,  and a group of “emos” together in a cult that could be one of those that collects millions from its adepts. Then the audience is introduced to a prostitute (portrayed by actress Paula Braun – from “O Cheiro do Ralo” [released in the english market as “Drained”] and “A Outra Memória” [“the Other Memory”]).

There are some important names of the local scene involved in this production, such as Bianca Chiaradia, art director and director of “Mercado de Histórias” (“Market Stories”), and Marx Vamerlatti, responsible for the photography and one of the most requested names today in the South of Brazil.
