Visual Arts: “Asp sem Verniz” (“Asp without Varnish”) exhibition

“Asp sem Verniz” was an exhibition held at Fundação Cultural BADESC (BADESC Cultural Foundation) in Florianópolis. Carlos Asp is an important name within the contemporary art scene. Curated by Fernando C. Boppre, the exhibition took place over the months of September and October 2008 with a different proposal: during these months, the artist lived in the exhibition space – the old mansion owned by the former governor and former Brazil president Nereus Ramos. In addition, every day his works were changed by both the artist and the audience, displacing the usual concept of “exhibition” and creating what was called “disposition”.
