O Festival por finalidade levar ao espectador uma representação significativa do cinema e vídeo realizado por catarinenses, possibilitando a difusão e intercâmbio de informações e divulgando novos talentos na área do audiovisual do estado, além de valorizar os realizadores através das premiações e destaques. Poderão participar do 1º FAÇA curtas-metragens de ficção, animação ou documentário, com até 25 minutos de duração, realizados no estado de Santa Catarina ou com a participação de catarinense na produção do filme em qualquer etapa ou função, realizados em qualquer formato, com cópia de exibição em 35 mm ou digital e finalizados em qualquer ano. Serão contemplados até quatro curtas-metragens com uma premiação em dinheiro no valor R$5.000,00 nas categorias de Melhor Ficção, Melhor Animação, Melhor Documentário e Júri Popular, além de receberem o troféu FAÇA!.
